My monstera put out 3 new leaves in 8 weeks after I moved it 4 feet away from the AC vent
Back in March I had this monstera sitting right next to the AC vent in my apartment in Phoenix and it just sat there for 6 months doing nothing, not dying but not growing either. I moved it 4 feet over toward the window and stopped running the air so hard, and in 8 weeks it gave me 3 new leaves with way bigger fenestrations. Now I'm stuck arguing with my plant friend who swears the growth spurt is just seasonal and the vent had nothing to do with it. My take is that cold drafts matter way more than people admit, and the "bright indirect light" advice gets repeated so much that airflow and temp get ignored. So which is it, was it the move or just spring, and has anyone actually tested draft exposure on their aroids?
