My greenhouse drip system flooded the floor 3 times before I noticed the problem
Last Tuesday I set up a new drip irrigation for my orchids in the greenhouse. I left it running overnight and came back to a puddle across the whole floor. Turns out one of the cheap emitters I got from a hardware store had a crack in the plastic that only showed up under pressure. I swapped all 12 emitters for higher quality ones and used a pressure regulator at the faucet. Anybody else had a sneaky leak from those bargain parts?

Oh man, that is the worst kind of surprise to find in a greenhouse... I had a similar thing happen with a soaker hose last spring. I set it up around my tomatoes, thought I was being smart saving money with the cheap stuff from the discount bin. Came back two days later and the hose had split right at a kink I didn't notice. The whole bed was a muddy swamp and my poor tomatoes were practically swimming. I ended up having to pull them all out and start over with new plants because the roots got too waterlogged. Now I always run my irrigation for a test cycle during the day when I can watch it for a solid ten minutes before trusting it unattended.
