My grandma told me to always plant my tomatoes deep, and she was right.

I used to just put them in at the root ball level, but after a storm in May knocked over three of my plants, I tried her way. The buried stems grew extra roots and the plants got way sturdier. What's one piece of old-school gardening advice you still follow?

That deep planting trick for tomatoes really does make a huge difference.

Wait, you bury the whole stem?

Honestly, the deep planting thing is a game changer. But here's a question for you - do you strip the lower leaves off before you bury the stem? I've heard people say you should, but some folks just shove the whole thing in the ground and hope for the best. Ngl, I always take off the bottom few sets of leaves so they don't rot underground. Tbh, I wonder if that extra step really matters or if I'm just wasting time. What's your grandma's method on that part?
