Morning mist watering trick saved my tomatoes in Phoenix

Tbh, I kept losing young tomato plants to heat stress every July until I tried watering them with a fine mist spray at 6 AM instead of a steady hose stream. Within 10 days the leaves stopped curling and I got 3 extra healthy plants out of the batch. Has anyone else switched up their watering method based on local humidity or heat?

Three extra plants out of a whole batch though? Sounds more like luck than a magic mist cure. Phoenix heat kills tomatoes no matter how you water them, the sun doesn't care about your spray bottle.

Did you figure this out before or after killing like six plants in a row? Because my track record with tomatoes is basically a slow murder mystery every summer. The mist thing makes sense though, since a hard stream in dry heat just runs off and leaves the roots thirsty. I might finally try it instead of blaming the sun for everything.
