Just realized my peace lily has been blooming for 3 years straight
I got this peace lily from a neighbor in 2021 when she moved out, and it has bloomed every three months like clockwork since then, never missed a cycle. I counted the blooms yesterday and hit 12 total, which surprised me because I always thought indoor plants need a rest period between flowers. Has anyone else had a plant just keep going without any special care or did I get lucky with a weird specimen?

Wait, are you sure it's a peace lily? I've had a bunch of those over the years and three years of nonstop blooms sounds almost too good to be true. The thing is, peace lilies usually bloom in cycles with a rest period, so if it's really been going that long without a break, you might have a different plant that looks similar. Could be a type of spathiphyllum that's just a bit different, or maybe it's getting just the right amount of light and fertilizer to keep up the flowers. I'd double check the leaves and the flower shape, because sometimes people mix up peace lilies with other plants like the anthurium.

Actually I had something similar happen with a peace lily my aunt gave me. She swore up and down it was a peace lily but the flowers kept coming and coming for almost two years straight. Then I realized the leaves were a bit shinier and the flowers had this slight pinkish tint to them at the start. Turned out it was actually a Calla lily that had been mislabeled at the nursery she bought it from. So yeah sometimes you just get a plant that looks like one thing but acts completely different. I bet if you look really close at the base where the flower stem meets the leaf you might spot something off. Peace lilies have this little winged thing at the base that other lilies don't always have.
