Hot take: I thought my fiddle leaf fig was just dramatic until I moved it 3 feet from the window
My friend in Denver said hers thrived with more light, and after a month of new leaves, I get it now... anyone have a good spot for a picky monstera?

Moving a plant a few feet seems like such a small thing, but it really can make a difference. I'm not sure it's always that serious though. @aarons36's story about the bathroom is a good example, but sometimes I wonder if we're just overthinking it. My monstera got a new leaf after I just stopped moving it around so much.

My neighbor had a similar light issue with her monstera. She finally put it in a bright bathroom with a frosted window, and it started putting out those split leaves within weeks. Sometimes they just need that indirect glow.

that "split leaves within weeks" part is wild though. i wonder if it's less about the light itself and more about the humidity bumping up in the bathroom. monstera are tropical af and sometimes they hold back on fenestrations if the air is too dry, even with good light. your neighbor might have accidentally hit the sweet spot with both steam and glow.
