Gave my office fern tap water for 8 months and the leaf tips turned into crispy little claws
Did some reading and turns out my city water in Sacramento is hard enough that salts build up in the soil over time. Switched to rainwater from a bucket on the porch and the new fronds are coming in soft and green. Has anyone else had tap water wreck a fern, or am I just lucky with my local supply?
