Finally got my Venus flytrap to bloom after 3 years

Kept adjusting the light and humidity levels every season, but it turned out the soil mix was too rich. Took me exactly 36 months of trial and error to figure that out. Has anyone else had a finicky carnivorous plant that refused to cooperate?

Isn't that always the way with these finicky things? I've noticed the same pattern with so many hobbies and projects - you try all the complicated solutions first, and it ends up being something simple and basic that was wrong. Reminds me of how we tend to overthink things in life until we step back and see the obvious.

yeah julia843 you're totally right, i've been there so many times where i spent hours messing with the fancy stuff and then realized i just needed to plug it in or whatever
