Bought a $45 'rare' orchid online, got a weed in a cup

Last month I ordered a specific Dendrobium from a seller with good reviews. It arrived with no tags, just a torn leaf in a damp cup. After 3 weeks of care, it flowered into something I can buy at the grocery store for $8. I messaged the seller twice and got no reply, so that money is just gone. Lesson is, check the seller's actual location and ask for a photo before shipping. Has anyone else gotten a bait-and-switch plant from a web order?
