Am I the only one who switched from peat pots to soil blocks and watched seedlings actually take off?
Killed about 30 tomato starts in peat pots on my windowsill in Madison last spring. Roots circled the walls, soil stayed soggy, damping off took half of them. Tried 2 inch soil blocks this year with the same seed and the same window and got 28 out of 30 up with roots that air prune instead of wrapping. The blocks hold shape if you wet them right and don't need the plastic tray. Anyone else made the switch, and do you bother with the blocker tool or just press them by hand?
