Spent $300 on a fancy smoker and it flamed out on me during a comp
Bought a pellet smoker from a local shop in Austin for $300 and it died mid-brisket at a competition last month. Controller board fried and ruined my whole cook. Anyone else have luck with cheaper stick burners instead?

$300 is cheap for a smoker. Expecting it to win competitions is optimistic.

Exactly this @kim.sandra. Picked up a $280 one last summer and it barely held temp for more than a few hours. You get what you pay for with smokers.
