Watched a guy in Tulsa cut hair with just a comb and clippers, no guards at all
I was at a barber battle in Tulsa about three years back and this older guy named Ray was working a chair with nothing but a comb and a pair of clippers with no guard on them. He faded a whole head in under nine minutes and the blend was cleaner than anything I was getting with my guards at the time. I went home that night and started practicing freehand on mannequins, took me a solid two months before I felt safe doing it on a paying customer. Now I barely touch my guards for anything above a one. Anyone else learn a big technique change from watching somebody at a show or battle instead of a class?
