Warning: That one Tuesday last month almost made me quit barbering for good
I had a day where three guys in a row wanted the exact same fade pattern but all complained the line was too dark. Then a kid about 7 years old threw up all over my chair while I was doing his hard part. I spent 20 minutes cleaning it up and lost my next appointment slot. Right after that, a dude handed me a picture of a haircut he saw on Instagram that was physically impossible with his hair type. By 5pm I had only made 80 bucks after tipping out the shop. Any of you ever had a shift that made you question everything?

Start off by saying I felt that in my soul lmao. It's wild how one bad day can make you forget all the good ones, right? I've noticed this bigger thing where people just don't see the work behind the craft anymore, especially with social media making everything look easy and instant. Like everyone expects magic without understanding the physics of hair or the time it takes to get it right. That kid puking though, man, that's a whole other level of bad luck. It's almost like the universe tests you on purpose some days to see if you really love what you do.

Girl I feel you so hard on that... one bad shift can really shake your whole confidence. Social media has everyone thinking they can just watch a 30 second tutorial and become a master stylist overnight. It's rough when you pour your heart into your work and people don't see the grind behind it.
