Rant: customer told me his last barber used a vacuum attachment for clipper cleaning

This guy walks in today saying his old barber kept a shop vac with a skinny attachment right next to the chair and would suck the hair off the clippers between cuts. Said it worked fine for six months but then the motor started smelling weird. I had to stop what I was doing and just stare at him for a second. Has anyone else heard of some wild clipper maintenance setup like that?

Wait, you mean people actually do that with a vacuum? I used to think it sounded kind of genius but now I'm convinced it's just asking for trouble with the motor.

Are you kidding me? I've been doing this for years and never had a single issue with the motor, it's totally fine if you don't jam the hose in there or run it for hours straight.
