I finally understood why my fades felt rough after a decade in the chair
A new guy at the shop in Toledo pointed out I was holding my clippers at a consistent 90-degree angle the whole time. I switched to a slight roll with my wrist on the blend lines and the difference was immediate. Anyone have a different method for smoothing out that transition?

Yeah, I was doing the same stiff-wrist thing for years, felt like a robot. That little roll makes it feel way more natural, like you're drawing the line instead of chopping it. What guard do you usually start with for that first guideline?

Man, the angle is huge. But honestly, the pressure you use with your thumb on the back of the clipper matters just as much. I lighten up almost to floating over the skin right at that line, then add a tiny bit back after.

Wait, a full decade before someone pointed out your angle? That's wild man, I can't imagine grinding through ten years of rough fades like that lol.
