Had a client share deep personal issues today. Where do we draw the line?
Today, a regular client started talking about his divorce while I was trimming his hair. It got really deep, and I felt like I was more of a therapist than a barber. Some folks in our shop say that hearing clients out is just part of the job and helps them come back. But others feel it puts too much on us and we should keep chats light. What do you all say? Where's the line for you?

Nah see I totally get why some barbers go with it, but that line gets crossed way too easy. Had a guy last week dump his whole divorce settlement details on me, like bro I just shape fades. Once they start bringing up their kids' custody fights or their toxic work drama, that's when you gotta gently steer it back to sports or the weather. We're not trained for that heavy stuff and it can really stick with you after your shift ends.

Honestly read a thing about how these chats can be part of the service, but you gotta set a soft limit for your own mental health.
