Dropped $150 on a set of ceramic clipper blades and they went dull in a month
I bought a pack of ceramic fade blades from a vendor at the Chicago Barber Expo back in March. Figured they'd last twice as long as my usual steel ones, but after maybe 30 haircuts they started pulling and skipping. Sticking with standard Wahl blades from now on. Anybody else have bad luck with ceramics?

THIRTY haircuts and they went dull? That is NUTS. For $150 I'd expect them to last through a full year at least.

THIRTY haircuts and they went dull" - that about sums it up. I had a similar experience with a pair of ceramic thinning shears a few years back. Cost me $200 and they started skipping after maybe 40 cuts. The thing is, ceramic is hard but it's also brittle. One little nick from a stray hair clip or a drop on the floor and it chips, then the whole edge is ruined. With steel at least you can get them sharpened for 10 bucks.
