A regular at my shop in Phoenix asked me to cut his hair like his son's for the first time
He brought in a picture from his phone, a simple fade his kid got at a different place. He told me, 'He's moving across the country next week, and I want to match him.' I did the cut, and when he looked in the mirror he got quiet for a second. It was just a haircut, but it felt bigger. Has anyone else had a moment like that with a client?

Saw a thing once about how haircuts can be these weirdly emotional rituals for guys. That quiet moment in the chair totally tracks.

Yeah, it's the only time some of us get told we look nice without it being weird.
