My stand mixer clutch went out mid buttercream, twice in one month

I was mixing a triple batch of buttercream for a 60 cupcake order on Tuesday and the clutch just gave up, dough hook was stuck spinning at half speed and then stopped completely. Took the whole head apart in my kitchen in Tulsa, found the plastic gear chewed to pieces, and replaced it with the metal upgrade kit. Has anyone else had the plastic gears fail after heavy use, or am I just pushing the machine too hard?
