My sourdough starter escaped during a power outage last Tuesday. Left my jar on the counter while the fridge thawed for 6 hours, and that thing climbed out like a horror movie. Found hooch drips all down the cabinet and a crusty trail to the cat bowl, which was somehow empty. The cat looked offended, and I spent a whole afternoon scrubbing fermented goo off three shelves. Anyone else have a starter that acts out when the grid goes down, or am I raising a tiny monster?
