My grandma said weigh your flour and I rolled my eyes for 3 whole months
I always scooped flour straight from the bag with the measuring cup like everyone in my family does. My grandma kept saying to weigh it on a scale, and I thought that was just a fancy baking show thing. Then my chocolate chip cookies came out dry 4 batches in a row, so I finally weighed 120 grams per cup instead of scooping. Same recipe, same oven at 375, and the cookies spread out flat and chewy like they were supposed to. I was probably packing in like 160 grams every time by scooping, which is basically a whole extra half cup of flour per batch. Now I want to know, does anyone weigh their butter too or is that taking it too far?
