Hot take: I ran my sourdough starter at 68 degrees for a month, then switched to 74, and the warmer one is just better.

The 74-degree starter doubled in half the time and gave my whole wheat a much more open crumb. Anyone else find their starter is way more active in a slightly warmer spot?

Guess @jesse84's fridge top is basically a starter spa.

Totally, my starter got way more lively when I moved it off the counter and onto the fridge top. That extra warmth makes a huge difference.

Yeah, that spot is perfect. I keep mine on the cable box for the same reason.
