Hit 50 loaves sold at the farmers market in Des Moines and I sat in my truck and just stared at the till
When I started selling sourdough at the Des Moines farmers market back in April I told myself if I ever sold 20 loaves in one Saturday I'd feel like a real baker. This past weekend I counted the cash box and it was 50, at $7 a loaf, so $350 before the $25 stall fee. What got me was that my starter is the same jar I almost threw out in February because it looked dead and smelled like nail polish. Now I'm trying to figure out if I add a second bake day or just cap it, because I'm already up at 4am and my oven only fits 6 at a time. Anybody here run two ovens in a home kitchen, and did your electric bill make you cry?
