Why does nobody talk about leaky icemaker lines in older fridges?
I was out on a call last Tuesday near Oak Park, an older Whirlpool from 2012. Found water damage behind the fridge that was way worse than the customer knew about. The plastic line had a pinhole leak that probably dripped for months before they noticed the floor bubbling. Took me 45 minutes just to dry out the area and replace the line with a braided steel one. Anyone else run into these tiny plastic lines failing way before the compressor gives out?

Woke up at 3am last month to find my own kitchen floor all squishy... turns out my 2008 Kenmore had the same tiny plastic line dripping behind it for who knows how long. Felt pretty dumb standing there in my bathrobe with a flashlight at 4am trying to figure out why my socks were wet. Replaced it with a braided steel line too but not before I had to rip out a corner of my laminate floor where the water had warped it pretty bad.

That's rough, waking up to a squishy floor at 3am is a total nightmare for sure.
