Helped a lady save her 15 year old fridge and she cried
Last month I got a call from a woman in Raleigh whose fridge was making a loud clicking noise. She was about to drop $1,200 on a new one because three different repair guys told her the compressor was shot. I went over, listened for 2 minutes, and found the start relay was just loose. I popped it back in, tightened the connection, and charged her $75 for the service call. She actually started tearing up and said I was the first person who didnt try to upsell her. That moment stuck with me because it reminded me why I went independent in the first place. Has anyone else run into a simple fix that other techs completely overlooked?
