Warning: the hack I picked up at a parts counter in Amarillo cut my dryer callbacks to almost nothing
I was at a supply house in Amarillo back in March picking up a heater element for a Kenmore and the counter guy (older fella, been there 30 years) watched me test it with my meter and just shook his head. He said most guys check the element and the thermal fuse and call it done, but they hardly ever ohm out the blower wheel and check for lint packed behind the drum. I started doing a full tear down on every dryer since then, even the ones that just look like a bad element, and out of 14 jobs last month I only had one callback. Before that I was averaging 3 or 4 a month easy. Anybody else had a counter guy drop knowledge on them like that?

That "ohm out the blower wheel" line got me. I always thought the wheel was just a plastic fan that spins or it don't, so I've been yanking dryers apart and skipping right past it for years. Funny how a 30 year guy at a parts counter can make you feel like a first year helper with one head shake. Bet that guy in Amarillo has forgot more about dryers than most of us will ever know.
