Vent: That $20 dryer repair kit I bought was a complete letdown

I picked up one of those generic dryer repair kits from a hardware store in Nashville last weekend. Figured it would be a quick fix for the squeaky drum on an older model, but the belt was way too loose and the tensioner didn't match up at all. Ended up spending 2 hours trying to make it work before just ordering the OEM part online. Has anyone else had bad luck with those all-in-one kits, or did I just get a dud?
