The way people handle fridge water line hookups drives me crazy
I keep seeing folks use those cheap plastic push-to-connect fittings on refrigerator ice maker lines and they always fail within a year. Had a call last Tuesday where one blew off at 2 AM and flooded the client's entire basement. Anyone else just stick with copper compression fittings for this?

Is it just me or does nobody ever talk about how important it is to actually secure the line to the wall or cabinet before hooking it up? I mean, if that plastic fitting is wiggling around every time someone opens the fridge door or pulls it out to clean, it's gonna stress the connection and pop off eventually. A few cheap zip ties to keep the line from moving would probably save a lot of those basement floods.

Totally, I had a fridge line pop once and it flooded my garage, took me forever to clean up.
