Shoutout to the guys who think a new thermal fuse fixes every dryer that won't heat

I see this all the time... someone swaps the fuse, it heats for a day, then the same thing happens again. The real issue is almost always a clogged vent line, which you can check with a simple $5 anemometer. How many times have you had to go back for the same job?

Man I learned that lesson the hard way. Did the fuse swap on my own dryer like three times before I gave up. My vent line was so packed with lint it was basically a solid tube. Felt pretty dumb after that, but hey, at least my dryer works now.

Ever check the outside vent cover too, @sean_foster52? Mine was totally blocked by a bird nest. A clean vent line makes a huge difference.

That's a good point about the outside vent. How often do you actually check it? I try to look at mine when I clean the gutters in the fall, but I bet a lot of people forget it's even there. A clog out there can back everything up just as bad as lint inside the machine. Makes you wonder if it should be part of regular home maintenance, like changing air filters.
