Shoutout to the 71 year old tech in Bakersfield who talked me out of quoting a whole new control board
He looked at the Frigidaire for 2 minutes and said "pull the wire harness and check for a burnt pin before you sell that lady a $340 board." Sure enough, one melted connector, $12 fix, and she tipped me $40. How do you all handle it when the old timers make you feel like you skipped a step in your training?

Wait, a $340 board for a Frigidaire and it was just one melted pin? That is wild to me. The fact that he spotted it in 2 minutes flat blows my mind because most guys I know would have just swapped the board and called it a day. Your gut must have dropped when you pulled that harness and saw the burn mark. I would have stood there feeling dumb for a minute but also super lucky he caught it. That lady got a cheap fix and you got a tip out of it, so everybody wins except the parts house.
