Question about why techs keep replacing washer lids when it's really the strike that's shot
Had a call in Mesa last Tuesday on a 6 month old top load washer, and the lady told me two other guys already swapped the lid and the latch assembly. Thing is, the strike on the tub ring was bent maybe 2 millimeters, so the lid never pressed the switch all the way and the machine just sat there blinking. Took me 10 minutes with a pair of needle nose pliers and she looked at me like I fixed her car for free. Anybody else seeing a run of these, or is it just the dry heat out here warping cheap plastic?
How many techs does it take to bend a piece of metal back straight? Apparently three, since the first two just threw parts at it lol. Two millimeters and they're out here doing full lid swaps like it's a recall. Hope you charged her for the pliers work and not the parts cannon.
