Pro tip: I was wrong about those cheap multimeter test leads

For years I avoided the $15 sets from Harbor Freight, convinced they'd give false readings or fail fast. A guy I work with in Tampa swore by them, so I finally bought a set during a pinch on a dryer repair last month. They've held up through about 30 service calls now with no issues, and the continuity beep is actually faster than my old ones. Has anyone else found a budget tool that surprised them?

Yeah, been there. I've totally snubbed the cheap stuff only to find out it works just fine. Makes you wonder what else we're overpaying for.

You ever try that store brand version of something and realize it's exactly the same? I switched to generic ibuprofen a year ago. Costs like a third of the name brand. Works just as good for my back pain. Now I grab the cheap stuff on almost everything except maybe soda and ketchup.
