Hot take: Is the 'compressor rinse' really worth it on every job or just a waste of time?

I tried flushing a condenser coil with a hose on a call last week after a guy told me it's all he does, but my old mentor swore it just pushes debris deeper. Did the trick actually help the unit or did I just make a mess for nothing?

Wait you hose rinsed a condenser coil? That's wild man, water pressure just packs the fins tighter and traps everything inside.

Doesn't the hose just shove all that junk deeper into the coil where you can't get it out?
