Found a weird trick for stuck LG washer drain pumps at a shop in Cleveland

I was at a repair shop in Cleveland last month and this old timer showed me how to tap the drain pump housing with a rubber mallet while running a short spin cycle. It frees up coins and junk that get wedged in there without pulling the whole pump apart. Has anyone else tried something like that or got a better method for those tough LG models?

@mila_mitchell gonna have to disagree, tapping can crack the housing if you hit wrong angle.

Yeah that trick works. I do it all the time on LGs. Little tap tap tap while it spins and you hear the crap break loose. Just don't hit too hard or you'll crack the plastic housing.
