Been doing this 20 years and I still miss the old refrigerators
Last month I worked on a 1992 Kenmore in a basement off Maple Street in Seattle. Compressor was shot but the guy didn't want to trash it. Told me he had it since new. Made me think about how those old units had way simpler wiring and you could actually get to the condenser coils without pulling the whole unit out. Does anyone else feel like the newer stuff has too many circuit boards for what it does?

My buddy still runs a 1987 fridge in his garage, hasn't touched it once.

Huh, the condenser coil thing is wild. Had a guy last year who had a 1988 Whirlpool in his garage that he'd just hose off every spring and it ran like a champ. Now you practically need an engineering degree to change a light bulb in some of these new models.
