Am I the only one who switched from a paper parts catalog to a tablet in the truck
My paper catalogs were falling apart after 2 years of daily use, so I loaded everything onto a $90 tablet and now I can pull up a part number in seconds without leaving the driveway. Curious if anyone else made the switch and how you keep the screen from dying in the cold.
Wait, you were paying for paper catalogs? Most of the big brands put their full catalog online for free these days, so maybe you didn't need to buy anything, just download the PDFs. Not knocking the tablet move though, that part makes sense. For the cold, the trick is to keep it plugged in and charged, because a dead battery is what really kills them in freezing temps. Also store it somewhere it stays a little warm, like a glovebox or a bag you bring inside at night, and it'll do way better.
