Warning: the anime club at my local library in Fresno has 12 people and half of them have never finished a single series
I went to the anime meetup at the Woodward Park library branch last Saturday and I'm still bothered by it. There were 12 of us in that little meeting room and somehow 5 of them admitted they've never finished a full cour of anything. One guy kept calling every show a "slow burn" even when we were talking about 12 episode series that wrap up in a weekend. Another person argued that dropping a show at episode 3 is the same as watching the whole thing. I get it, people are busy, but why come to a discussion group if you haven't seen the stuff we're discussing? I brought up the last arc of a show and got blank stares, then someone changed the subject to a manga they read spoilers for online. Is this what every local anime club is like now, or did I just pick a bad one in Fresno?
