Warning: I bought a bootleg box set of 'Legend of the Galactic Heroes' for $60

The subtitles were machine translated gibberish and the discs froze halfway through episode 3. Anyone know a legit place to get the OVA series without breaking the bank?

That's just how things are now. It feels like the price for everything fake or off-brand has gone way up. People see a chance to make a buck and they take it, even on cheap stuff. You used to get a knockoff for twenty dollars and everyone knew it was a gamble. Now they want almost real money for something that's still not the real deal. Makes you wonder why you wouldn't just save a little longer for the actual thing.

@wade558 $60 for a bootleg is insane, I totally agree. I used to think people were being dramatic about this stuff, like just save up and buy it right if you care that much. But after reading this I get it now, it's not about being cheap it's about the price gouging on fakes. Like you said @ivan_perez, they're charging almost real money for something that clearly didn't cost them anything to make. The subtitles being machine translated is brutal too, I've seen that on bootleg dvds before and it ruins the whole experience. It really makes you wonder why anyone would bother with a knockoff at that price point when they could just wait for a sale on the real thing.
