Vent: Thinking back on teaching myself fansub timing for old anime projects.
I picked up a whole new set of computer skills just to share shows with friends before they got official releases, lol.

Funny how that works. Used to think fansubbing was just for super fans, but timing subs for a niche OVA changed that. Spent hours in Aegisub trying to sync dialogue to mouth flaps for a 90s series that never got licensed. Ended up picking up basic video encoding and file management along the way. Now I see it as a legit way to keep shows alive that would otherwise be forgotten. Kinda respect the hustle more after doing it myself.

Totally, timing subs makes you appreciate the craft.

Yeah, fansubbing turns into amateur archiving when no one else cares. Syncing those subs makes you realize how much gets lost without that effort. It's keeping culture alive, plain and simple.
