Unpopular opinion: That 300 episode milestone in One Piece hit me harder than I expected

I sat down last night to finally check my total watched count on MyAnimeList and it landed at exactly 300 episodes of One Piece. I started the show like 4 years ago just casually and now here I am staring at that number. It made me realize how much time I've actually sunk into this one story without even noticing the weeks piling up. Has anyone else had a moment where their episode count or list length just kinda slapped them in the face?

Oh man, "staring at that number" really hit me. I had a similar moment with Naruto actually, I started it in college just to have something on in the background while doing homework and before I knew it I was 200 episodes deep wondering where the last six months went. What worked for me was just accepting it as a weird little marker of time spent, like a really specific scrapbook. I stopped trying to rush through the show and started paying more attention to how the story changes as you go along, which made that feeling of time passing more meaningful. It's crazy how you don't notice the hours piling up when you're just enjoying something, but then you look back and it's like "wow, I've been on this journey for a while.
