Trying to find a specific anime clip from 2007 took me two whole days

I wanted to show my friend this cool fight scene from an old show called 'Darker than Black'. I only remembered it had a guy with a sword and a rainy night. I searched YouTube, then went deep into old forums and even a sketchy Russian site. I finally found it on a random blog after like 15 hours of looking. Has anyone else lost a weekend hunting for one scene?

Was it the fight where Hei takes on that contractor in the alley? I read a whole rant about how that scene got wiped from mainstream sites because of some licensing mess. I totally get that deep dive, I once spent a whole Sunday looking for a specific AMV that used a song from a now-defunct band. The trail always goes cold on those old Geocities-era pages. It feels less like searching and more like digital archaeology after a while. The worst part is when you finally find it and the quality is like 240p.

My buddy spent three days tracking down a fan edit of a scene from that old mecha show. He finally found it on some forum from 2004, but the only download link was a broken Megaupload page. The whole thing just evaporated. He said it was worse than finding nothing at all, getting that close to proof it ever existed.
