The trick that got me through every bad anime recap episode

I was binging this 200-episode shonen and hit a wall with those filler recap episodes that just rehash the last fight. Instead of skipping them entirely, I started playing them at 2x speed on my laptop while I folded laundry or chopped veggies for meal prep. After 8 episodes of this, I realized I never missed any actual new content and my kitchen stayed clean. Has anyone else found a weird way to power through the boring parts of a long series?

Totally get this. I've been through a couple of those marathon shonen shows myself and those recap episodes can feel like a real drag. What you're doing with the meal prep is smart though, I usually just end up mindlessly scrolling on my phone and then have to rewind because I realized I wasn't paying any attention at all. Doubling the speed is a good call, I might have to try that for the next time I hit a filler stretch.

idk, is it really that deep though? recaps are annoying but it's just a tv show, not a job you have to power through. maybe just skip em and see if you miss anything important, usually you don't.
