That 2015 con panel that killed my "anime is perfect" phase
Sitting in a crowded Room 204 at Anime Boston, the translator flubbed a joke from the voice actor and the whole audience just stared, silent. It hit me that even the people making the shows are just humans messing up, and now I actually enjoy picking apart bad dubs instead of defending them. Anyone else have a moment that broke the magic for them?

That moment when you catch the actual human cracks underneath the polish is weirdly freeing. Once you see it, you stop treating every show like sacred text and start noticing how much fun the rough edges can be.
