Shoutout to that 12-episode anime I almost skipped on Crunchyroll
Ngl, I rolled my eyes at Odd Taxi after seeing the animal character designs, but my buddy kept bugging me about it until I binged it last weekend. The way that show weaves together all those random storylines by the final episode convinced me it's some of the tightest writing I've seen in years. Has anyone else had a show surprise them like that after you wrote it off?

oh man, Odd Taxi is exactly the kind of show I'm talking about. I had it sitting in my queue for like six months because I looked at those animal heads and thought it was gonna be some weird furry thing. Then I finally put it on one night when I couldn't sleep and ended up watching the whole thing in two days. The way that taxi driver just slowly unravels this whole crime web without even trying, and all those random passengers actually connect to each other in ways you don't see coming, it's just so satisfying. I had the same thing happen with Ping Pong the Animation actually, that art style made me almost skip it but the character writing is insane once you get past the ugly character designs.

Unravels this whole crime web without even trying" - you think that's just good writing or does Odokawa have some weird sixth sense for trouble?
