Saw a clip of Goku going Super Saiyan for the first time and it hit different as an adult

I was watching an old Dragon Ball Z episode at 2 AM after a long shift and realized the scene where he transforms is basically about letting go of his limits. The way his hair stands up and that raw sound, it made me think about how I hold myself back at work. Has anyone else rewatched a classic anime moment and seen it through a completely new lens?

Man that scene still gives me chills no matter how many times I've seen it lol. The way Frieza just killed Krillin right in front of him and something just snapped inside Goku. As a kid I thought it was just about getting angry enough to power up but now I see it more like hitting that breaking point where you stop caring about the consequences. There's that moment where his eyes go blank and you can tell he's not even thinking anymore, he's just pure instinct. It's like that feeling when you've been grinding at something for years and one day it just clicks because you finally stopped overthinking everything.

idk @jesse84 i feel like people kind of overthink that scene a little. it was a cartoon where a monkey alien turned blonde and beat up a space lizard, not some deep life lesson about breaking points.

Honestly that part about "his eyes go blank" is spot on. Ngl that's the exact moment where the whole show changes. You can almost feel him just check out mentally and let the rage take over. Tbh it's wild how a kids show captured that feeling of pure, unfiltered rage so well.
