PSA: My cousin in Sacramento swore I should skip the movie and read the manga first. She was wrong.
My cousin handed me 3 volumes of Berserk back in March and kept saying the 1997 show would ruin the story for me. I read all 3 volumes, hated how slow it felt, and almost gave up on the whole thing. Then I watched the show in 2 days and now I can't stop thinking about it. Reading first is not always the move people say it is. What order do you all go in, manga first or anime first?

That line about the show ruining the story is what got me too, everyone says it like it is a fact. I read a thing where the 97 show actually cuts a bunch of stuff and moves things around, so it is not like it is some perfect version of the manga either. Some people just click better with one first and that is fine.
