PSA: I picked the cheaper voice actor over the big name dub and regret it

I was deciding between two dubs for a new anime I started last month. One had a big name voice actress I recognized from a popular series, the other was a lesser known person but cost less on the streaming service. I thought, how bad could it be? So I went with the cheaper option to save a few bucks. Man, was that a mistake. The voice acting felt flat, like she was just reading lines off a page. No emotion during the big fight scene in episode 3, totally ruined it for me. I ended up switching to the other dub halfway through and it was way better. Has anyone else tried to save money on something like this and gotten burned?

Wait, you paid extra for a different streaming tier just for a specific voice actor? That's some next level dedication my dude. Ngl though I get it. Bad voice acting can totally kill an anime for me too. Tbh she probably got the job because she was cheap, not because she was good. Classic case of you get what you pay for. Honestly though the real crime here is that streaming services are charging different prices for different dubs now. What's next, pay extra for the 4K version of the voice?
