My coworker told me to skip episode 4 of a 2015 anime and I regret it

Last week my buddy Mark swore I should jump from episode 3 to episode 5 of Aldnoah Zero because he said the middle ep was just filler. I listened and ended up totally lost on why the main characters were fighting in episode 6. Turns out episode 4 had a key betrayal scene that explained everything. Has anyone else trusted a friend's skip advice and ended up confused?

Well slap me sideways and call me confused, that's just brutal. Your buddy Mark owes you a beer and a full explanation of that betrayal scene because skipping episode 4 in Aldnoah Zero is like skipping the part where the villain spills his evil plan in a mystery movie. I once had a friend tell me the entire first season of Gundam 00 was just robot fights and I skipped to season two, ended up watching four episodes before realizing I had no clue who anyone was or why they kept screaming about peace. Never trust a friend who calls anime episodes "filler" unless they've seen it three times, lesson learned the hard way right?
