Just learned the original Sailor Moon anime had over 200 episodes cut from its US broadcast
I was reading an article on Anime News Network about 90s localization and it said the DiC dub removed entire story arcs and over 200 episodes worth of content to make it more 'kid friendly'. I always knew there were edits, but that number is huge! Has anyone watched the uncut versions and noticed other big changes?

Over 200 episodes cut? That's not just editing, that's a whole different show. They removed entire story arcs. You can't even follow the real plot like that. The characters must have felt totally flat. Makes you wonder what else we missed in those old dubs.

Yeah @the_blair, it's like that old dub of that one samurai show where they cut out a whole season about the main guy's past. Made his whole revenge thing seem random. They even changed the dialogue so he was looking for his father's "famous sword recipe" instead of, you know, actual revenge.
