I read a hot take about filler episodes and it completely changed how I rewatch old series
Someone on a different forum wrote that filler is just 'the anime equivalent of deleted scenes' and it got me thinking. I used to skip all of it, but last week I rewatched Naruto and sat through the filler arcs this time. Some of those episodes have character moments that the main plot never touches. My takeaway: filler is fine when you're binging, it's only painful when you're waiting week to week. Has anyone else flipped on filler after a rewatch?
Oh wow, this actually made me think. I was the same way and always skipped filler because people said it was trash. But when I rewatched Bleach last year I watched the Bount arc for the first time and it was way better than I expected, it gave some side characters way more screen time. You're right about the week to week thing too, waiting for filler when you just want the story to move is the worst.
